Abstract

The first chapters of this issue of Comunicação e Sociedade cover a wide range of reflections on the nature of technology in contemporary times. This issue also contains several declinations of a set of technological figurations. The last chapters question the future and power of words. This point of view goes against the idea of its decline through the rise of the famous image civilization.
